Recipe Redux: Dark Chocolate Orange Biscotti

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/4 cup GF oat flour
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup/honey
  • 11/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 flax egg 1 Tbsp. ground flax, 3 Tbsp. water
  • 1 Tbsp. coconut oil melted
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp. juice from an orange
  • 2 Tbsp. orange zest
  • 2 Tbsp. sliced almonds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat to 350 degrees.
  • In a bowl combine flour and baking powder. Mix well.
  • Add in flax egg, coconut oil, vanilla, orange juice, maple syrup and orange zest. Stir well, scraping sides of the bowl after each addition. Form a dough
  • Roll rough into long log and flatten to a width of two inches.
  • Place log on cooking sheet coated with cooking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden.
  • Slice with a serrated knife.
  • Melt chocolate and dip ends of biscotti into it. Repeat with all cookies.
