Vegan Pear Streusel Mug Cake is filled with fresh pear, chocolate chips and topping with an almond streusel! Also paleo, gluten-free and grain-free!
Pears remind me of the fruit salad my Dad used to make for Bethany and I as kids when my Mom was working the night shift as a nurse.
He used to cut up apples, bananas, and pears and place them in a large bowl, mix them together and add a few handfuls of chocolate chips of course :). I’d say that my love of fruit stemmed from eating this salad a few times per week, but it also didn’t hurt that there was a plethora of chocolate chips in addition to the sweet goodness of the fresh fruit! Let’s just agree that you cannot beat fresh fruit salad with chocolate chips as the perfect healthy dessert! Am I right?
I don’t know why, but pears are very underrated when it comes to the food blog world. I guess apples just take over and it’s so not fair because pears deserve the spot light this time of year. Pears get their glory today in this beautiful Chocolate Pear Mug Cake!

This is the cutest little mug of streusel-topped cake!! Streusel, fruit, and chocolate–all my faves in one bite! I am guilty of letting apples take precedence over pears in my kitchen. That fruit salad sounds delicious, I’ve never added chocolate chips to fruit salad (which seems like a big mistake in retrospect 🤔). This recipe challenge certainly changed my mind about pears. And chocolate helped too!

Hi Bethany & Rachel,
I love pears. My Mother used to make pear pie and it was my favorite type of pie. Unfortunately it is not something I can eat much of anymore. I have an sensitivity to pears and to any kind of grain. I do eat fresh pears from my Mom tree but have to limit them and I can’t touch any grain. I do think you recipes sound so tasty and healthy. Thanks for sharing on Real Food Fridays. Pinned & tweeted!

I love streusels and any muffins or breads with added chocolate chips, so combining the two sounds like pure bliss!! Apples do take over, but pears are the juiciest, sweet treat. This looks like the perfect dessert or even breakfast with those nutritious ingredients. I can’t wait to try it!
