So this WIAW post is a tad different then the norm. Why you ask? Because I feel the need to explain to people why I eat the way I do.
So Why Do You Eat Healthy??
1. Well, it’s sorta simple, because eat healthy makes me feel good. Sure I can have a bowl of ice cream now and then, but after eating it I feel disgusting. I would much rather eat a giant bowl of plain greek yogurt with a spoonful of pumpkin, cottage cheese and natural PB and in my opinion it tastes much better!
2.Because I eat so healthy, I have so much more energy than I did before. It’s crazy how much different I feel, from always being tired from processed foods, to have tons of energy with whole unprocessed foods! I feel so much stronger than ever before!
3. This may seem weird but I don’t crave unhealthy foods! Seeing a commercial for McDonalds makes me want to through up! I actually crave healthy unprocessed foods like broiled salmon or roasted butternut squash! And believe it or not, there are times that I crave vegetables (yes you read that right) like roasted brussel sprouts and steamed broccoli.
4. I love how I eat and I don’t care what people think! You can judge me all you want!
Thanks to Jenn for hosting!

Awesome post! I eat healthy mainly for the reasons that you have shared, but also for my health condition (I have arthritis). Eating healthy makes me be able to function better in my every day life! Plus I actually prefer the taste of healthy food over junk.

Great post. I try to eat healthy most of the time, but I do occasionally eat a LOT of sugar haha

Awesome post! Those are many of the reasons I eat healthy. I crave healthy foods and rarely crave unhealthy/junk food. Totally with you on the McDonalds/fast food…yuck!

<3 Great post! And your healthy food is definitely more appetizing than a greasy burger.

This post is SO refreshing. THANK YOU. “Healthy” isn’t a bad term, but I feel like I’m always labeled as the “Healthy” one. But it’s in a negative sense—it meant I was depriving myself of all things fun. Actually, it’s the total opposite. I had a coworker (who moved on to a new job last month) who routinely brought in cakes, pies, cupcakes, cookies, etc. as a generous peace offering to our marketing/creative team at work. It was super thoughtful. I always declined these grand (sugar coated) gestures. I’d say: “You know, you are SO sweet to offer me the sugar bomb of a monkey bread thing, but I’m kind of trying to eat an apple over a slice of cheesecake at snack time.” The response was something like, “Why deprive yourself? You don’t need to.” Right. I don’t need to cut crap (if you look at me), but the reason I look like i do…is BECAUSE I don’t eat junk. Ugh. Granted, there was a transition period. I didn’t really (one day) choose to cut sugar and processed food, but I just DID. I didn’t do a cleanse. I didn’t decide to eliminate gluten or go paleo (I loathe paleo—don’t get me started). I’ve always read nutrition labels on food. I’ve always been keen on serving sizes and all that jazz. As time progressed, I discovered what works for me. I eat vegetables like whoa (you like brussels sprouts like me? My favorite lunch is sprouts, shelled edamame, broccoli, topped with salsa—a good quality salsa—not a cheap store brand—unless it’s Harris Teeter (HT Traders) which is always phenomenal. I eat Quest Bars like they’re $.99 a pop (which is REALLY problematic). But if anyone gives you a hard time about how you eat, how you live life–it’s usually envy. You’re motivated, you’re driven, you’re informed—-you win! And, like you: I eat healthy because it feels good! Fist pump. You’re a champ. =)

I really enjoyed reading your post! A greasy burger definitely does not look as appetizing as your healthy food
